The Gallery Girls are among the most well-known and underdressed members of the greater downtown arts scene, having posed for thousands of area artists at a variety of venues over the years. Now they are planning the exhibit themselves with a show of the drawings and paintings produced at the drawing workshops at which they have modeled. They are still collecting works and have announced a call for submissions for flat art produced at any of the muses’ workshops. Works in any medium, from a sketch to finished painting, are acceptable, as long as the original inspiration for the piece is a Gallery Girl. Unfortunately, sculptures cannot be accommodated. Deadline for submissions is October 28. See details below.
The show, “How Do You Figure?” will be curated by model Jennifer Fabos Patton and artist Leftyjoe (Joe Torres) and will open November 7th at a nameless space (how cool is that!) at 4628 Hollywood Boulevard, directly across from the Luz de Jesus Gallery.
All submitted work must be wall-ready (meaning completely ready to hang).
Attach the art release sheet and contract (these forms will be given when you contact us) to the back of your piece with the following information:
-name of artist
-title of artwork
-medium
-date executed
-value of art
For submissions contact curator Leftyjoe : 626 623 9757
email: leftyjoetorres@gmail.com

There will be a one time $20.00 submission fee per artist. Make checks payable to Joe Torres. Cash will be accepted.)
