Bedlam Magazine is a two-dimensional extension of the free-wheeling Bedlam art space that existed first on Molino Street near Palmetto and then moved to a spacious, two-story industrial building on 6th Street in the Arts District, where it hosted hundreds of openings, exhibitions, special events, plays, performance art, and drawing workshops. For almost two decades, Bedlam was a true salon that attracted artists, writers, musicians and arts enthusiasts from across Los Angeles and beyond. We hope this website, our new space at the 305 S. Hewitt (the former Al’s Bar), in the heart of the Arts District, and the paper version will continue the Bedlam tradition of welcoming and encouraging emerging artists, celebrating their works and offering a forum for discussion and debate about the evolving state of the arts in L.A.
Please give us your feedback. Tell us what you like and don’t like and what you’d like to see that isn’t here. We will be adding video features and opportunities for you to upload video and stills. We hope you will help us stay on top of the L.A. arts scene with your input, suggestions and contributions.
